Nothing Says Desperation More Than Dropping Your Price

A report from Bisnow on Florida. “Ed Easton started his industrial real estate company, The Easton Group, in 1974. He now controls about 5M SF of space. Nearly 1,000 people per day move to Florida. ‘Historically, each person needs 74 SF of warehouses when they come here. So you just multiply the number of people coming here times 74 SF and that’s kind of the demand side,’ Easton said. ‘The land prices can’t fall under these circumstances.'”

The Herald Tribune in Florida. “With a plethora of property and housing developments to choose from, enticing customers for a sales-pitch during Florida’s free-wheeling real estate boom of the 1920s was a far cry from today. The renowned orator, William Jennings Bryan said of Miami, ‘Miami is the only city in the world where you can tell a lie at breakfast that will come true by evening.'”

“Addison Mizner designed Boca Raton to be the most exclusive resort in Florida. He let it be known that ‘Exaggeration is unessential. The future of Boca Raton is far too opulent to require coloring.’ Mizner and his brother, Wilson were as colorful as they came. After the real estate crash, Wilson was sued by a gentleman who told the court that he was promised that he could grow nuts on his property. ‘Not so,’ shot back Wilson, ‘I said you could GO nuts on that property.'”

From Maryland Matters. “Despite an executive order allowing Maryland homeowners to request forbearance on their mortgage payments due to the financial stress brought on by the pandemic, advocates say some homes are still being sold at foreclosure. Scott Webber, a Montgomery County resident embroiled in a foreclosure battle of his own, said some homes are still going to auction despite Hogan’s orders. His own home was scheduled to be sold in a foreclosure auction on Tuesday, although that sale was canceled at the eleventh hour.”

“He said borrowers should contact their lenders and loan services as soon as possible to ask for a forbearance if they’ve taken a financial hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. ‘It can’t wait,’ Webber said. ‘This housing crisis is not only forthcoming, it’s here now.'”

The Center Square. “Washington state landlords and tenants are demanding financial relief as more property owners challenge Gov. Jay Inslee’s authority ahead of his eviction moratorium’s expiration by the end of the month. A lawsuit filed in Lewis County Superior Court on Tuesday by the Washington Business Properties Association takes its arguments a step farther than prior legal challenges against the governor. It claims landlords are entitled to injunctive relief from the moratorium as well as financial compensation from the state.”

“Robert, a Washington landlord who rents out a housing complex in SeaTac, says six of his tenants owe him more than $65,000 in back rent combined, two of whom were in the process of eviction before the moratorium began. Robert insists many of his tenants have the means to pay and says he has not paid his own electric bills since around April.”

“‘They give you the same old stories, the whole ‘Somebody is working, somebody will call you,’ this and that,’ Robert said. ‘Eventually they start shutting doors and just don’t want to face me. It’s just like nobody listens to no small landlords like us. We also have bills to pay.'”

From Patch New York. “A stretch of the Upper East Side saw the most drops in home prices last month of any neighborhood in New York City, according to a new report. According RealtyHop, 171 homes saw their listed prices drop in November within the area bounded by 59th and 96th streets to the north and south, and Fifth and Third Avenues to the west and east. That’s the most total price drops of any neighborhood in the city — closely followed by the Turtle Bay-Midtown East area, with 159 drops, and Lenox Hill-Roosevelt Island, with 133.”

“The home with the single highest price drop in November was also on the Upper East Side. A 13th-floor apartment at 1040 5th Ave., just north of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, had its listing price reduced by a whopping $7.4 million last month, according to RealtyHop. While the Upper East Side saw the most price drops, it didn’t have the steepest. That honor belongs to Brownsville, Brooklyn, where home prices dropped by a median of 8.4 percent, or about $101,000.”

“The highest median price drops by dollar amount, meanwhile, were in the SoHo-TriBeCa-Civic Center-Little Italy area, where home prices declined by a median of $222,500. In second place was the Upper East Side-Carnegie Hill area, which saw a median $120,000 decline.”

From The Eastsider in California. “Here are some examples, followed by a breakdown by neighborhood, of recent price cuts on homes, condos, apartments and other Eastside properties. Echo Park 2-bedroom: $20,000 slice on remodeled 1898 home with air conditioning, security alarm, hot tub, and separate entrance to guest room with separate bathroom. Now asking $849,500.”

“Highland Park duplex: $30,000 reduction on 4-bedroom home in Historic Preservation Zone converted into 2 apartments with backyard. Now asking $898,000. Atwater Village Traditional: $114,000 chop on fully upgraded 4-bedroom home with 4-bathrooms, expansive floor plan offering natural lighting. Now asking $1,085,000.”

The Los Angeles Times in California. “Two years and six price cuts later, Grammy-nominated singer Michael Feinstein has finally sold his Los Feliz home. The dramatic Tudor Revival-style spot just traded hands for $7.33 million — a big drop from his original ambitious price tag of $26 million. Feinstein put the property on the market in 2018 a few months after moving east. Feinstein bought the place for about $2.5 million in 1998, records show.”

The Ukiah Daily Journal in California. “We are seeing more of a return to a seasonal market in Wine Country with sales falling on a month over month basis. They still remain relatively high to a year ago. Inventory is starting to more closely mirror inventory from a year ago. I was introduced to a new statistic for watching the direction and strength of real estate markets. I call it the ‘Price Reduction Ratio.’ Across the country, one might expect that 30 to 35 percent of the homes put into the MLS to sell will have a price reduction before they eventually sell.”

“For October 2020, of all closed homes in Sonoma County, 25 percent had price reductions before selling. In Napa, the ratio was 27 percent and in Mendocino County it was 22 percent.”

From Burnaby Now in Canada. “Nothing says desperation more than dropping your price. That’s when buyers smell blood in the water. Price drops for a buyer are always a real delight and what more for Burnaby’s fast and highly sought-after real estate marketing! Roomvu has placed together the top-six price drop listings for the entire month of November, so read on and who knows you might even be interested in getting in on a piece of the action.”

“8245 19TH AVENUE: $1,149,000. This is a 4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom House listed for $1,149,000. This property was previously listed for 1,298,000 and then was re-listed for 1,149,000 which is a price drop of about 11.47%.”

The Australian Financial Review. “Rich Lister Harry Triguboff’s Meriton Properties has absorbed a significant slump in after-tax profit, after disruption from the pandemic ate into revenue and a large write-down was booked on the value of land handed over in development projects to local councils. While the sharp fall looks startling at first blush, most of it is due to the accounting treatment of Meriton’s inventory. Inventory revaluations turned negative and were booked as a $248.8 million loss, compared to a $66.5 million gain a year earlier.”

“The bulk of that devaluation in turn flowed from the value Meriton ascribes to elements of its large suburban projects – including at Parramatta, Pagewood and Lidcombe in Sydney – which it hands over to local authorities as public space or roads.”

Wondering why the Soros sponsored machine wouldn’t have already had Ruby lawyered up but then I realized that would implicate them as knowing and or defending what took place.

          1. like an old CNN video talking about how the voting machines can be hacked.

This is the best way to BBQ libtards – use their own words and actions to expose their hypocrisy. These people dig their own graves.

      2. Ruby Freeman – “I need an attorney”

“This is bigger than me. I need an attorney.” at 4:55.

You might have bigger problems than you think, Ruby. Jeffrey Epstein and Seth Rich are cautionary tales for how the Democrats tie up their loose ends.

        1. Ruby Freeman – I need a plastic surgeon and a forgery expert that specializes in birth certificates and Social Security Cards.

        2. Jeffrey Epstein and Seth Rich are cautionary tales for how the Democrats tie up their loose ends.

That’s what happens when you swim with the sharks.

      1. The fake ballots from China story is going to blow up soon methinks. We’re getting a slow drip of info to discredit the fake news media, the dnc and all the scumbag judges that have no interest in enforcing the law.

And that same hive of scum and villainy want us to get their fake vaccines for their Plandemic? Lol, no.

        1. There are tens of millions of TDS-afflicted scum who would happily embrace China rigging the election for Pedo Joe. We’ve got a real problem in this country.

        2. The MSM news is now shifting from “Trump’s false accusations of fraud even though there’s no evidence” to “Republicans should show courage and give up and unite this country.” Note they said Republicans, as if Trump had been tossed in the trash and the garbage truck had already picked up the trash and taken it away.

They call this “talking past the sale,” a marketing term where you discuss next steps after the deal even before the deal is made. The idea is to convince someone that the deal is a done deal, so to speak, so they better accept it.

I don’t think the MSM will report on any of this until — and IF, which is a big IF — three states decertify.

          1. They call this “talking past the sale,” a marketing term where you discuss next steps after the deal even before the deal is made. The idea is to convince someone that the deal is a done deal, so to speak, so they better accept it.

This is how the whole rigged election was handled in the media from the start. Biden was anointed the winner and they segued from that to his cabinet and policies, etc., not even acknowledging any sort of discrepancy or dispute. It was basically “ok, this is over.”

          2. “ok, this is over.”

And it’s working. I caught up with a friend (and former colleague) yesterday and got: Orange Man Bad, can’t wait ’til he’s gone, but he’ll continue to claim he won.

          3. I have some good honest lefty friends who have no idea there is even a serious challenge going on. Their media is telling them that it was a totally normal election and good times are almost here again. And they’re not stupid people…they just hate Trump and trust what the media is telling them…so they are totally unaware. There seem to be a lot of them.

          4. And they’re not stupid people…they just hate Trump and trust what the media is telling them

I suspect most people are too consumed with everyday work and life to research things like Operation Mockingbird and the consolidation of media companies, which would lead them to realize the extent to which they are being lied to.

          5. To you folks with the lib friends: how many of them seem rather moderate or do they have long-haul TDS? Sure, they’re be ecstatic if/when Biden gets into office, and they’ll scorn and ridicule on you pretty hard. But when the Orange Man is gone and the ‘rona is gone and the good times still don’t come back, what do you think they’ll do? Will they still blame everything on Orange Man, or will there be some purple pilling?

          6. All part of the plan. When Trump wins the left will riot and say civil war 2.0! I’ve talked to some far left friends too, they have no idea whats going on – they still buy into antifa is just an idea, lol. I red pilled one a bit showing him the graphs on this site. Fortunately most of them dont know what gender they are so if they decide to get wild they could be put down pretty quickly – but the cops arent going to do anything, theyll be told to stand down. Trump will likely roll out the military as needed to restore order.

          7. To you folks with the lib friends: how many of them seem rather moderate or do they have long-haul TDS?

Almost all of the suffer from acute TDS. Also, I categorize them as acquaintances and not friends.

          8. What’s almost as concerning to me is that I have many conservative friends and family members who don’t know what’s going on either. Most seemed resigned to accept a Biden win, not even questioning anything.

          9. One thing I highly recommend, although it costs a stamp each time: When you run across a yard with one of those signs that talks about believing in science, mail them a document with the statistical analysis of the vote showing massive fraud with a nice cover letter explaining “here’s some science”.

          10. Or for some even better science, send them the scientific papers where hydroxychloroquine/zinc is effective for early stage COVID, that Ivermectin is effective for all stages of COVID, that Vitamin D cuts down on severity, and that a 15-minute saliva test is accurate enough to identify everyone who is contagious. Take a test, wait 15-minutes, if you’re positive, take a packet of pills home with you. You might still be sick, but you likely won’t need to go to the hospital. This pandemic could have been controlled by AUGUST.

            THAT’s the science we need.

          11. mail them a document with the statistical analysis of the vote showing massive fraud with a nice cover letter explaining “here’s some science”.

Waste of precious time. They’ll just call that fake news.

          12. My friend was widowed last year with two kids under 10yo. She sold their house in January, moved to a new home in March, left the law firm job and went back in house. I think she just wants the kids to go back to school full-time and things to settle down so she can catch her breath.

          13. This pandemic could have been controlled by AUGUST.

Consider that it was over by August. Consider that it never was a population reduction event. Consider that they are not wearing masks in China.

      2. the FBI and DoJ can’t be bothered to investigate

Remember – that’s deep state central. Comey, McCabe, etc. The corruption is systemic and throughout not only the Justice Dept. but the court system as well. I think this was all by design – rig the elections then reject the evidence in the courts to get the Pedo into office. Repubs hate Trump, too. Remember how he absolutely humiliated them in the primaries 4 years ago? They sure haven’t forgotten. Our country is under siege by globalist traitor scum.

          1. I consider Bill Kristol more of a threat to this country than most of the pols with a D after their name.

          2. Re-read this PDF:

            20. As seen in included document titled“AA20-304A- Iranian_Advanced_Persistent_Threat_Actor_Identified_Obtaining_Voter_Registration_Data” that was authored by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) with aProduct ID of AA20-304A on a specified date of October 30, 2020, CISA and the FBIreports that Iranian APT teams were seen using ACUTENIX, a website scanning software, tofind vulnerabilities within Election company websites, confirmed to be used by the IranianAPT teams buy seized cloud storage that I had personally captured and reported to higherauthorities. These scanning behaviors showed that foreign agents of aggressor nations hadaccess to US voter lists, and had done so recently.21. In my professional opinion, this affidavit presents unambiguous evidence that DominionVoter Systems and Edison Research have been accessible and were certainly compromisedby rogue actors, such as Iran and China. By using servers and employees connected withrogue actors and hostile foreign influences combined with numerous easily discoverableleaked credentials, these organizations neglectfully allowed foreign adversaries to access data and intentionally provided access to their infrastructure in order to monitor and manipulate elections, including the most recent one in 2020. This represents a complete failure of their duty to provide basic cyber security. This is not a technological issue, but rather a governance and basic security issue: if it is not corrected, future elections in the United States and beyond will not be secure and citizens will not have confidence in the results. I declare under penalty of perjury that the forgoing is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Executed this November 23th, 2020′

They’ve been telling us this 1,000 a day thing since 2005 at least. By this time everybody should live there.

    1. ‘Nearly 1,000 people per day move to Florida…‘The land prices can’t fall under these circumstances’

There is yet ANOTHER land grab going on right now. Between this and the farmland bubble, I’ve lost count of how many land bubbles in a row we’ve had, but I know it’s all the same one. There’s but one common denominator – cheap, easy credit.

  3. ‘The dramatic Tudor Revival-style spot just traded hands for $7.33 million — a big drop from his original ambitious price tag of $26 million’

Careful stepping past my front door, or you’ll bump into a bicycle, and there’s no sweeping staircase.

A few dozen restaurant owners and their supporters converged outside the Santa Monica home of Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl on Saturday to express their frustrations with the latest restaurant outdoor dining shutdowns.

Carrying signs and chanting “let us work!” the group of demonstrators surrounded Kuehl’s home demanding to be allowed back to work, as stimulus negotiations continue to stall amid the worsening pandemic.

Kuehl made headlines earlier this week after she was seen eating outdoors at Il Forno Trattoria in Santa Monica on Nov. 24, just hours after voting to ban outdoor dining throughout the county for three weeks amid rising coronavirus cases in the region.

      1. I often wonder if it’s going to take a few key deaths for any sort of meaningful change in this country. It doesn’t appear we can do it through voting since that is rigged.

        1. My suggestion, as they say on 4chan, of what could be done “in Minecraft” would be to start with the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is a tax-exempt terrorist organization. High value and high visibility targets are too logistically difficult. Twitter blue checkmarks would be a good group to go after next (in Minecraft), they’ve already doxxed themselves to the public, and finding their locations (in Minecraft) would be easy.

  7. Tales of the Mask — Sunday Morning Edition:

Another Front Range foothills hike this morning near Red Rocks. Some people do not wear masks at all, some wear them 100% from when they leave the car. And some wear one around their neck (bandanna around my neck, not a mask).

This is close enough to the city that I’ll play along with their security theater. If I’m passing a bunch of perma-maskers on a narrow part of the trail, I’ll pull the bandanna up to play along with their make believe pretend version of Science™.

What is really fun is when I’m approaching a neck masker, and they feint reaching for theirs, and stop when they see me not reaching for mine. It’s the unspoken mutual acknowledgement that it’s nothing more than a virtue signal, and with regards to outdoor exercise, total bullshit. Outdoor transmission passing someone on a trail for five seconds, of a fake pandemic disease with a 99.98% survival rate for people under age 70 is just that, total bullshit.

      1. @rip,

Same here- I am not a slave or zombie and know the faux wuhan flu is a scam-demic plandemic to bring about UN Agenda 2030 and the WEF Great Reset NWO dystopia.

    1. Whenever I have to wear a mask (indoors in public), I never wear it over my nose. Today I was in Costco and in the check out line, a Costco goon approached me and told me to cover my nose. I said “sure thing Karen” and complied….. and immediately readjusted it so I could breath again.

      Realtors are liars.

      1. funny I was at costco and after I got inside, took mask off refused to wear it and half way done shopping a costco goon tried to harass me so I walked away, finished shopping, waited in line, paid for groceries and left. I heard said goon talking to another employee about me as I was leaving.

    2. We had lunch and allowed our child to play maskless at a playground today in UV-rich 73 degree weather. We weren’t the only ones.

    3. Whats even stupider is people wearing a mask driving in their car alone .

I don’t wear a mask outside unless I’m raking up leaves. got Valley Fever a few years ago from sucking up dead leaves with a shop vac. pretty sure that was what it was not the fires. And yea you get a fever all right.

    1. Thank you for posting this. I watched it a few weeks ago and forgot to post it. I’d never have remembered.

      1. I like how the American guy was watching Ford vs. Ferrari in the theatre and saying, “How did this move get made? It celebrates white men and the internal combustion engine, everything Hollywood hates! Who dared to greenlight this?”

        Excellent movie.

    1. The rot, the structural rot, goes deeper than many will ever even know. This is no longer the country I was born and grew up in.

      1. the structural rot, goes deeper than many will ever even know. I have been following this process for over 20 years. It is catching up with all of us now.

  8. San Francisco bans tobacco but not cannabis smoking in apartments to counter secondhand smoke effects.

    1. When I discuss Clown World with people I can tell that they don’t want to hear about it, in a see no evil, hear no evil kind of way, even though it affects them at work, school, etc.

  9. California is a failed state in every way from housing shortage, leftist commie democraps ruining the state for the last 20 years, homeless everywhere, record high taxes and home prices and traffic. Weather is the only good thing left and even then not worth it. Good jobs are few and far between with the marxists in Sacramento driving businesses out of the state. I am amazed at the feeding frenzy for homes under 2 million that go pending and see in less than 2 weeks. Madness.

    1. Don’t forget the rampant crime, the high cost of living, and the black outs.

And to think that it was once considered a near paradise.

      1. @InColorado,

I grew up most of my life here in northern California and it used to be a really great place 30 years ago. Now it is an expensive, crowded toilet. Unfortunately, a lot of commies leaving the state are exporting their madness to the rest of the nation.

  10. The nexus between the banksters and the CCP is getting more apparent by the day. HSBC, originally founded to bank the proceeds of Britain’s opium trade with China in the 19th century, is now doing the bidding of the CCP when it comes to financial repression of anti-CCP Hong Kong dissidents. How long before the TBTF banks band together to impose similar financial repression against any members of Les Deplorables who oppose the CCP-globalist oligarch-Deep State election steal?
