This should tell you Redfin estimate is completely BS. Even at purchase price of “only” $132K, the rent payment only cover 50% of the mortgage payment. This doesn’t include maintenance cost, property taxes, home insurance, etc. So this sucker, I mean investor, was losing money every month even when the rent checks were coming in! I would suggest that rather than the policies being a mistake, they are deliberate.
One attitude is that low interest rates encourage businesses to “invest” and thus create jobs and prosperity. The paradoxical result may be that they do use debt to indebt their companies for mergers and acquisitions (that kill jobs) and to do stock buybacks.
The central bank is very quick to take credit for any positive development, but very quick to deny its policies have any negative or unintended side effects.

Instead the landlord, RiseBoro Community Partnership, is entering the third year of a legal battle with insurance company American International Group over who is the long-term owner of the imposing century-old block.
It is one of at least half a dozen fights between charities and powerful investment groups over affordable apartments funded by federal tax credits — a trend that activists say could displace families whose homes were built with billions of dollars of government subsidies.
Those homes are now coveted by private equity firms.
