      1. LOL. I lived there from 1993-2018. Sold my house and moved to the Desert in Nv. I hate it here(Scorpions&Heat) and want to go back to the Schitt hole, but then I have pangs of fear of being car jacked, my home invaded, Newscum & PG&E. I’m also not paying $500k for a 1950s 950 sq ft Crap Shack.

    1. I suppose the first assessment should be the level of insurance policy reimbursement. FEMA may decide that some areas are simply too risky to rebuild especially out on the barrier islands, and there’s anticipated sea level rise too.

  2. “We believe AMD’s warning will have the most negative read-across for PC peer Intel, but also somewhat for Nvidia and related memory and data center peers,” BofA Securities analyst Vivek Arya said.

Memory chip buyers such as smartphone and PC makers are holding off on new purchases and using up existing inventory, leading to lower shipments and ushering in an industry downcycle.

“We still think the industry is heading for its deepest downcycle in a decade, thanks to high supply chain inventories and falling end demand,” Jefferies analysts said.

    1. The NASDAQ slide is likely affecting firms that are doing everything right, but are caught in the demographics storm and stability problems associated with the end of globalism in the far east.

  3. New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency on Friday over the arrival of thousands of migrants bused from the U.S. southern border in recent months, imploring the Biden administration for aid, as the city’s overwhelmed shelters struggle to accommodate the recent arrivals.

Adams, a Democrat, said the city’s shelters are running out of bed space, with more than 61,000 homeless New Yorkers and migrants — including 20,000 children — in its housing system. A fifth of those in shelters are migrants, he said. The city has also enrolled 5,500 recently arrived migrant children in public schools.

At the current pace, the local shelter system could find itself housing 100,000 individuals next year, Adams said. He added that the city also anticipates spending over $1 billion receiving and housing migrants by next July.

“We now have a situation where more people are arriving in New York City than we can immediately accommodate, including families with babies and young children,” Adams said.  “Once the asylum seekers from today’s buses are provided shelter, we will surpass the highest number of people in recorded history in our city’s shelter system.”

Democratic officials in El Paso have also been offering free bus rides to New York City to migrants as part of an effort to alleviate overcrowding in local shelters, due largely to a sharp increase in the number Venezuelan asylum-seekers entering western Texas.

Adams on Friday said Republican state officials who have been sending migrants to New York were exploiting the city’s welcoming values, social services and right-to-shelter laws for “political gain.”

“We have not asked for this,” he said. “There was never any agreement to take on the job of supporting thousands of asylum seekers. This responsibility was simply handed to us without warning as buses began showing up.”

‘including families with babies and young children’

Taking a baby through the desert is child abuse or worse Eric. That’s what yer sanctuary city encourages. The daily deaths didn’t matter to you cuz they were far away. That’s very progressive – a$$ hat.

  4. Warning: This story contains details of an alleged sexual assault.

An actor who’s accused Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance on him as a 14-year-old recounted the episode for a New York City jury on Friday, testifying he felt helpless when Spacey climbed on top of him in bed.

“I was frozen,” Anthony Rapp said on the second day of a civil trial in Manhattan. “I was pinned underneath him. I didn’t know what to do.”

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/entertainment/kevin-spacey-trial-witness-claims-sexual-abuse-by-actor-1.6100868

    1. “In a halting voice, Rapp testified that the then-26-year-old Spacey had invited him to a party at his Upper East Side apartment when both actors were starring on Broadway in 1986. He said after he wandered into a bedroom to watch TV and get away from adults, an intoxicated-looking Spacey joined him after the other guests had left.”

What year are we in right now? [pinch]

“Rapp is seeking US$40 million in damages for the psychological injuries he says he sustained as a result of the encounter with Spacey.”

Would this trial be happening if Spacey was upside down in a spec house and nearing retirement age?

      1. As part of the compensatory agreement and before the punitive phase, these hollyweird freaks should recieve a bonafide, fully loaded kick directly to the balls by the person they molested.

  5. HARLINGEN, Texas — After a Texas Young Republicans banquet last weekend, Albert Alaniz watched as Sen. Ted Cruz rallied the party faithful on behalf of three GOP Latina candidates running for Congress in the Rio Grande Valley, a Democratic stronghold through most of the state’s history.

In addition to Flores’ seat, Republicans are hoping Monica De La Cruz defeats Democrat Michelle Vallejo in the 15th District, which Texas lawmakers drew to lean Republican, and that Cassy Garcia wins the 28th District, which incumbent Rep. Henry Cuellar has held since 2005.

Flores’ event was part rally and part revival, where she pushed religion and patriotism, popular themes in South Texas. She said the residents of the Rio Grande Valley are tired of being taken for granted. And she urged voters to return the area to its conservative roots.

“I am [Democrats’] worst nightmare,” she told the crowd. “All of a sudden, an immigrant, a woman, a mother is dangerous. The hypocrisy. They’ve been claiming all these years that they are for people like me.”

  8. To help ease the pain of high gasoline prices, eligible Californians will start receiving tax refunds of $200 to $1,050 Friday under a budget deal approved by the Legislature and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in June.

Which led many people to wonder: Am I going to have to pay taxes on that? Because nothing spoils a windfall in October like a higher tax bill in April.

The banana republic ‘central planning’ continues. No gas fer you! OK, here’s some money cuz gas is higher. Where’s it gonna come from? The magic money tree, dummy! What a bunch of clowns.

To the best of my knowledge CA had a budget surplus last year (97.5B according to one article) in large part due to the Stock market.
Analysis says CA will be WAY under budget in Tax revenues in 2022. (one articles puts shortfall at $40B). It will be interesting to see what do they do to address it any shortfall.
