  2. Sounds like Gov Hochul regrets telling Republicans to ‘get out’ of New York and move to Florida
    BizPac Review|14 hours ago
Hochul hypocritically begged people to not leave New York after telling Republican lawmakers to “get out” and go to Florida just months ago.

  3. U.S. natural gas futures dropped over 10% to a 10-month low on Tuesday, cutting the March-April spread to a record low as forecasts for mild weather and low heating demand in January force some in the market to give up on hopes for extreme cold in coming weeks.

The gas industry calls the March-April spread the “widow maker” because rapid price moves resulting from changing weather forecasts have knocked some speculators out of business, including the Amaranth hedge fund, which lost over $6 billion on gas futures in 2006.

The premium of futures for March over April fell 54% to a record low of nine cents per million British thermal units (mmBtu) on Tuesday, according to data provider Refinitiv.

  4. Distressed deals, QSR buys may drive 2023 restaurant M&A

Supply chain volatility and commodity costs also pressured margins for much of 2022, Benn said. Labor remains difficult, and the operating environment remains challenging. While many of the raw material costs have moderated, others are still elevated, and utilities, labor and construction costs are expected to be additional challenges in 2023, Benn said.ย

These conditions could make some distressed groups more willing to find a seller.ย โ€œSeveral larger franchise groups โ€” quick-service franchise groups โ€” are distressed and their debt is trading at stressed levels,โ€ Benn said. โ€œYouโ€™re certainly starting to see activity there, but itโ€™ll definitely be an active market sort of across the spectrum.โ€ย ย

  5. Wheat futures …

Last March the lying MSM Scared the sh*t out of the world’s mass supply of totally dumbed down sheeple by predicting mass global starvation due to the Ukranian war situation, and wheat future prices rose accordingly …

  6. Now DEMOCRAT governor is busing migrants to NYC: Colorado lawmaker Jared Polis is blasted by Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams for inundating New York as it struggles to cope with influx

-Jared Polis, Colorado’s Dem governor, called NYC mayor Eric Adams on Monday night to inform him large numbers of migrants would be transported to the city
-Adams publicly criticized the plan and added: ‘There’s no more room at the inn’
    – The row marks a rare confrontation between two senior Dems over the issue

I’ve mentioned I have lived near the border for several years in different places. It was just circumstance. It wears you down. Constant news of violence, misery, the next day it’s still going on, for years.

The human trafficking cartels are driving this.

    1. I was wondering how long until Polis started to ship the Nuevos Coloradans off somewhere else. It didn’t take long.

  7. Interest rates in the eurozone will rise “significantly” in February and March, according to a European Central Bank chief, as the continent battles to bring down inflation.

Governing Council member Martins Kazaks said that during the next two meetings of the bank “I think we can still do quite large steps”.

It comes after the bank raised interest rates by 0.5 percentage points in December to 2.5pc, following the Bank of England which increased rates by the same amount to 3.5pc.

Mr Kazaks, who heads Latvia’s central bank, said: “Of course the steps may become smaller as necessary as we find the level appropriate to bring the inflation down to 2pc.

“Currently I would see that at the February and March meetings we will have significant rate increases.”

  8. A Canadian ban on foreign home buyers has gone into effect, preventing any non-Canadian from purchasing a home inside the country for two years, with limited exceptions.

Americans are banned along with the rest of the world.

The law, which went into effect Sunday, only carves out special rules for long-term international students, people claiming refugee status and visitors on temporary work permits. Otherwise, home-buying is limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the lawโ€™s supporters said it would help slow runaway home prices in the Canadian housing market. Toronto and Vancouver are often included on lists of the 10 least affordable cities in the world.

โ€œThe desirability of Canadian homes is attracting profiteers, wealthy corporations and foreign investors,โ€ Trudeauโ€™s Liberal Party says in its campaign platform. โ€œThis is leading to a real problem of underused and vacant housing, rampant speculation and skyrocketing prices.โ€

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/canada-bans-foreigners-buying-homes-020600139.html

How far we’ve come from the 2000’s, when even mentioning foreign buyers immediately brought howls of racist! Now the ‘liberals’ are far right klansmen.

Where’s that Wall street meme, “Competition will bring ample supply and lower prices?”

  9. Never forget, all of the people responsible for this have NAMES and ADDRESSES:

“THREAD โ€“ A Look Back at the Weird Demonization of the Unvaccinated During COVID

Though the fact that COVID vaccines do not prevent transmission was clear from the outset, this myth has been a primary cause of the venom launched at those whoโ€™ve refused COVID vaccines.”

The Day Of The Rope is coming…

    1. A majority ofย City of Windsor workers who were firedย for not disclosing their COVID-19 vaccinationย statusย have been offered their jobs back, according toย the city.

Last January, the City of Windsor said that 104 employees were fired over their refusal to get vaccinated or disclose their status. Following a grace period, 84 workers wereย officially dismissed, according to the city.

In December, the city asked 67 of those staff members โ€” which includes 21 full-timers โ€” to return to work.

Dana Paladino, acting executive director of human resources, said the cityย has been working closely with the appropriate unions and has been offeringย these staff members their jobs back since the cityย lifted its COVID-19 vaccine mandate on Nov. 9.

In most cases, the collective agreement allows the returning workers to bump out the person who has filled their position. The city said anyone bumped will have an opportunity to find an alternative position.

Of those fired, 17 have not been offered aย return to work, according to Paladino.

She said the reasons for this vary, including that some had grievances that have been settled or have an outstanding grievance, others had their roles filled and are not part of a collective agreement that would allow them to bump that person out and others were not offered their jobs back for reasons unrelated to their COVID-19 vaccine status.

Of those asked to return, the city says 18 have accepted, five are in talksย with the city’s human resourcesย department and four have declined โ€”ย they have not heard back from the others.

Some of those asked to return to work are still part of an ongoing lawsuit against the City of Windsor.ย In August, 20 then laid-off workers joined together to sue the city for breaching their constitutional rights after they were fired for not claiming their vaccine status.

Since then, more workers have joined the case, bringing the total number of employees part of the lawsuitย to 30.

The lawyer representing the group, Courtney Betty, told CBC News that his clients are happy with being asked to return to work.

“Clearly, it’s an indication that these employees did not do anything wrong. But I also see it as a further indication that the city is trying to mend bridges,”ย said Betty.

  10. COVID-19 vaccines almost certainly didnโ€™t cause Damar Hamlinโ€™s cardiac arrest. Hereโ€™s what may have

It takes โ€œthe perfect stormโ€ of circumstances to result in the death of a seemingly healthy young person, Link said.

The fact that it doesnโ€™t happen more often suggests to Link that some young men โ€” the victims are almost exclusively boys and young men โ€” may have underlying conditions that predispose them to such devastating injury.

One of those conditions could be myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart most recently linked to mRNA vaccines for COVID-19. About 95% of all players in the National Football League were vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of last season, so odds are high that Hamlin was one of them.
