Canadaโs private mortgages lenders are pulling back, leading to a major increase in the number of forced real estate sales. While private mortgage lending thrived during the real estate bubble in 2020 and 2021, with declining assets and more expensive credit, many private mortgage lenders (institutional and mom and pop) are pulling out of the market.
Residents call for action after shooting death at Seattle encampment
The city’s newly updated homelessness dashboard shows that in 2022, there were 116 shots fired, that includes shootings near an encampment, or if the victim or offender is homeless. It is an average of two shootings a week.
“When someone gets killed, it’s a sad day,” nearby resident Franklin Moon said. He described what it is like living next to the encampment, “they do their thing; we do our thing. It mostly works. I can tell it’s not great living in general. It’s a sad thing to watch America turn into that.”

Reality will prevail where logic fails. At two or three times the interest burden, and drastically lower disposable income, prices must fall by over 50% for debt donkeys to make a purchase. The promise that prices will not fall too much is a hollow sales pitch. The fantasy of windfall riches is broken.
